چکیده

Optimization of operational parameters wastewater treatment system using the modeling technique may lead to enhance system’s and efficiency. The present research was carried out investigate efficiency conventional trickling filter (CTF) cascade cum (CCTF) for domestic wastewater. Both systems (CTF CCTF) were operated a period four months under temperature range 21–48 °C. maize cob (MC) date palm fibre (DPF) used as biofilm support media. Biological oxygen demand (BOD) reaction kinetic model developed evaluated optimization BOD removing CTF CCTF. CCTF has increased with increasing time from 12 48 h. showed 3–25% higher in organic matter, nutrients sulphates compared regardless supporting Similarly, MC 3–8% removal tested DPF media both systems. estimated optimal volumetric design loading rates (Bvd) 1.5–2.1 kg BOD/m3 day designing efficient found than other reactors due highest (91.8%) good capacity treat high load (2.1 kg/m3.day). Hence, potential inorganic contaminants developing countries.
